Pottery Barn was a Manhattan-based chain of 21 stores when Williams-Sonoma, Inc., purchased it in 1986. Since then we have evolved the brand into the country’s preeminent home furnishings retailer, with over 200 stores nationwide. In 1994, Pottery Barn introduced the Design Studio, a larger-format store with a wider product selection. In 2001, we opened our first international stores in Toronto, Canada.
